Recently, the Department of Immigration has revised the 870 temporary sponsored parent visa regulations to provide an 18-month extension for 870 visa holders who cannot enter Australia or are outside Australia due to COVID travel restrictions. But the following two conditions need to be met:

The visa must be valid on July 1, 2021; and

The visa holder will still be in a country other than Australia on July 1, 2021.

The new bill will take effect on July 30, 2021.

At the same time, the Immigration Department updated the requirements of the 408 AGEE stream regarding employers: visa holders can work for different employers or for multiple employers in any key sector occupation and position. However, at least one employer must be in a key industry.

At the same time, when changing employers, the applicant needs to use Form 1022 to notify the Immigration Department, and email the form, including the employment notice of the new employer and position, to majorevents.visaprocessing@homeaffairs.gov.au. The automatic response received by the applicant is that it is recognized that the Immigration Department has confirmed the update, and the Immigration Department will not provide further confirmation information.

Recently, many English tests have been canceled or delayed because of the aggravations of the epidemic across Australia, and the IELTS or PTE , which are very important for many students to submit 485 visa, cannot be obtained temporarily.  For this reason, the Immigration Department has also made flexible adjustments. If you are unable to take the English test or physical examination due to the epidemic, the Immigration Department will give you more time to wait for your results. However, it should be noted here that the prerequisite for waiting for English or physical examination results is that you still submit a 485 application within 6 months after completing your studies in accordance with the regulations, which not only meets other corresponding conditions. Only after submitting 485 can English or the results of the medical examination be allowed to be submitted later.
